Lecture "Phylomythologie, ou comment raconter la préhistoire des mythes ?"

Les mythes et les discours ne se fossilisent pas. Ils se transmettent cependant dans le temps, certains durant de très longues périodes, et des outils statistiques permettent désormais d’en reconstruire l’histoire. Nous expliquerons comment ces méthodes, appliquées à de grands ensembles de mythes ou de mythologies, rendent possible d’en situer l’origine, l’évolution et les routes de diffusion. Nous montrerons en particulier comment l’approche phylogénétique permet d’estimer la forme la plus probable de certains protorécits, puis nous mettrons ces résultats en relation avec des témoignages rupestres néolithiques (au Sahara) et paléolithiques (en Europe) pour tenter d’en éclairer le sens.

Release of Archéo-Nil volume 30
Archéo-Nil 30 is now available. Il was sent to all members up to date with their 2020 membership fee at the beginning of December 2020 and is available for purchase from Cybèle bookshop. The volume includes a thematic dossier on violence during the Prehistoric and Predynastic periods as well as original articles on King Scorpion, a flint boat model, the statue of Hetepdief in the Egyptian Museum, and more. The Annual Bibliography prepared by Stan Hendrickx and Wouter Claes is available electronically, for all Archéo-Nil members first, then on Archéo-Nil website six months after the release of the journal.

On the occasion of its 30th anniversary, Archéo-Nil is getting a new look with a new website that is clearer, more interactive with new content!
We have completely overhauled the site's aesthetics and visuals, as well as the navigation experience and content. We now present in detail our different activities and members have a reserved Member Access. All Archéo-Nil articles published before 2017 are now available for free downloading.
